Who does what

Each person picks their role when they open the app.

  • Coach: sets up teams, runners and races, sends the race to helpers, then collects and saves the results.
  • Timer: stands at the finish and taps Log Finish once for every runner who crosses the line.
  • Bib Recorder: stands just past the finish and records each runner's bib number in the order they finished, by voice or by typing.
  • Spectator: receives the results from the coach's phone to follow along.

Common questions

Do we need internet at the race?

No. Phones share races, times and bib numbers directly with each other. Internet is only used to save races to your account and keep your phones in sync, and that happens whenever you're back online.

The phones can't find each other. What should I check?
  • Keep the phones close together, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on.
  • Make sure XCeleration is allowed to use Local Network and the Camera, in your phone's Settings under XCeleration.
  • Scan the QR code on the other phone again.
The timer missed a runner, or tapped twice. Is the race ruined?

No. The timer can tap Counts differ? and choose Missed one or Extra tap. When the coach loads the results, the app shows where the times don't match the finishers and walks you through fixing it, with tips on how to decide.

Voice entry isn't working.
  • Allow the microphone for XCeleration in your phone's Settings.
  • The first time you use voice, the app downloads its speech model (about 28 MB). Do this before race day, on Wi-Fi.
  • You can always switch to typing in the Bib Recorder.
How do I fix a result after saving?

Open the race, go to the Results tab and tap Edit.

How do I share results?

On a finished race, tap Share Results. You can send a PDF, export to Google Sheets, or send the results to spectators' phones nearby.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings in the app and tap Delete Account. This permanently erases your account and the races saved to it. See our Privacy Policy for details.
